Bright Futures Expands Snack Packs Program to Carthage High School with Donation

Posted Date: 4/23/25 (4:12 PM)

At the April 21 Carthage Board of Education meeting, Matt and Tracy Flanigan presented a generous $200,000 endowment donation to Bright Futures Carthage. This significant contribution will expand the Bright Futures snack packs program to the Carthage High School campus, ensuring that even more students in need will have access to essential food support.

This $200,000 donation builds upon the Flanigans' initial $1 million gift made nearly three years ago, which helped strengthen the Bright Futures snack packs program for students in Kindergarten through 8th grade. With this new contribution, the program will now extend to Carthage High School, providing high school students facing food insecurity with essential meals and snacks to carry them through the weekend. The Bright Futures snack packs are a vital resource for students, easing food-related concerns and giving them the reassurance they need to thrive academically.

“We are incredibly grateful to Matt and Tracy Flanigan for their incredible generosity,” said Kim Hoover, Bright Futures Carthage Coordinator. “Their donation will make a lasting difference in the lives of our students.”

This endowment marks another important step in Bright Futures' mission to ensure that every Carthage student has access to the resources they need to thrive, both academically and personally.
